Texas Tenth Amendment Center
On February 12, the city council of League City, Texas passed Resolution No. 2013 designed to protect and defend the right to keep and bear arms by a vote of 7 to 1. The resolution was introduced by councilwoman Heidi Thiess and the one opposition vote was casted by councilman Dennis O’Keefe.
The resolution cited from the U.S. Constitution the Second, Ninth and Tenth Amendments as justification for their resolution. The League City Council also sourced the Texas Constitution, Article I: Section 23a which states, “Every citizen shall have the right to keep and bear arms in the lawful defense of himself or the state.”
The resolution is also very specific detailing that any law is not made in pursuance of the Constitution is invalid in the State of Texas and will be considered null and void in their city.
Also, the resolution instructs all agencies of the City of League City to refuse any requests or directives by federal agencies acting under any unconstitutional power that would infringe upon residents’ Second, Ninth, and Tenth Amendment rights, or other inalienable rights not here explicitly enumerated.
Councilwoman Theiss said, “The gun control debate being waged at every level of government is not about controlling the inanimate object of guns, but rather it is about controlling us.”

If you live in League City, Texas, contact them here and express your support for such measures and encourage them to continue using nullification on other issues of concern.
If you live virtually anywhere else, contact everyone from your city council, county officials, and state legislators to nullify the continuingly unconstitutional expansion of the federal government.

Thank you for covering this story, TAC! I just wanted to let you know that Gonzales and Tiki Island have followed suit and passed the same resolution ON Tuesday, Feb 19th. It’s also on the upcoming agendas for Nederland, Webster, and Rockwall, as far as I know right now. Many more have asked for copies of the Resolution – I expect more towns and cities to be joining us every day!
