Texas Tenth Amendment Center
Recently, Tenther Radio (Episode 65) had Tangerine Bolen on the show. She is one of the plaintiffs in a federal case that is moving up through the courts towards the Supreme Court. She posted the following update on her Facebook page. We thought we would share this update with you.
She wrote:
Apparently, the “public interest” lies in your government using the war on terror to steadily and utterly undermine the United States Constitution, the rule of law, human rights and basic decency on an international scale. The “public interest” lies in 3 judges failing to read between the lines – where the US government is claiming powers IT NEVER HAD (authoritatively, which must make it so) – and
where a few small advocacy groups and related activists clearly understand more than these 3 judges how the US government has LEGISLATED, via the 2012 NDAA, a retroactive fix to what is likely 11 years’ worth of interpreting the AUMF in a totally ILLEGAL fashion – in what is essentially a massive CYA by the US Congress, the Pentagon, DHS, the administration and others – so that no one, anywhere, ever understands the little coup that has occurred under your noses for the last 11 years. The “public interest” lies in the general public failing to pay attention to this utter eradication of liberties, in the name of a “war” that is as unethical, immoral, and outrageously abusive as it gets – as long as the disingenuousness is tortuous enough to be convincing. Yep. The “public interest” lies in all of you rolling over – including the judiciary, the Congress, the mainstream media, and anyone who claims to give a damn about democracy and the United States Constitution, while a few of us fight for rights you don’t even know you’ve lost.
(On the 3 judge ruling today in favor of granting the US government a stay on the injunction against Section 1021 of the NDAA – an injunction that is literally the biggest civil liberties win since 9/11 – and how most of you don’t even know about it).
