Al Gore, Deal or No Deal

Al Gore, Deal or No Deal

Bookmark and Share

Hey, Al Gore – you and the rest of the global warming zealots might want to reconsider your plans for forcing the Cap and Trade bill through. It was pretty easy to conclude that man-made global warming was a lie in the first place, but now  your own “scientists” (yes, that is in quotes) have been caught fixing numbers, conspiring to erase emails and hiding data showing declining global temperatures. In other words, fabricating data to make sure the results fit the global warming agenda. That’s not science, but it must be how you earn a Nobel prize these days.

So, Al, given the terrible effect that Cap and Trade would have on a state like Texas, we’d like to cut a deal…

The recent “Climategate” scandal has the potential to tear down your climate change house of cards. Senator Inhofe, from Oklahoma, sounds like he may push for an investigation. No telling what corruption may be found, and honestly, I don’t think your big lie could survive the limelight of the investigation. This may be just the break you need to get out of the climate-scare business and blame it on the “scientists”.

So the deal is this… Admit the lies and walk away. In exchange, Texans will try to pretend that you were just a victim of bad information.

Deal or no deal?

Ok, so you want to continue with the lies. I am not surprised, you have too much to gain. The political power to arbitrarily dictate “lights out” or worse must have you salivating. Better yet, the potential financial gain you will experience through investments in green technology is massive. The crazy thing is that without the political mandate to solve this imaginary problem, your investments are worth nothing.

So here is the next offer… Give up your political and financial stake in all things green. In exchange, Texans will just write you off as another corrupt politician from Washington D.C.

Deal or no deal?

Hmmm, so you are willing to embrace a fabricated crisis for personal gain. One estimate indicated that Texas will lose $1.26 billion per year if Cap and Trade is passed. Are you really willing to redistribute tax money coming from Texas and deliver it to other states and politicians?

Another offer… Take Cap and Trade legislation off the table. In exchange, Texas will not embarrass you by nullifying your unconstitutional law.

Deal or no deal?

So let me get this straight, from your political seat of power, you are willing to embrace a fabricated crisis and use it to destroy the economic power of Texas and much of the southern and mid-western United States. You do realize that this will have significant effects on the individuals living here. You do realize that your scheme steals from hard working Americans that will now be forced to pay higher prices for gas, food and other goods. You do understand that we realize you intend for our money to end up in your pockets?

Ok, here is the final offer… Keep your hands off Texas. (period)

Al and the rest of the global warming politicians are after the “Deal or no Deal” suitcase with the $1,000,000 sign in it. And the funny thing about it is that the $1,000,000 doesn’t even exist unless the federal government controls the market, the state governments and the people by force. That’s what this bill is about, control. And amazingly they want to exert this control based on a lie. They are willing to steal money from you, me and our families to harness this control.

So, when it comes to climate change, the proposed deal is for Texans is to give up our freedom, our money and enable corrupt politicians to gain absolute control of our lives. All based on a well-marketed lie. And what do we get in return? NOTHING. Wow, are we that stupid?

This is where state sovereignty and the 10th amendment are designed to come into play. Our country’s founders were brilliant; they included the 10th amendment to give the states and therefore the people localized power to determine the direction of their own lives. There are many ways for a state to legally challenge federal mandates. And with heath care, cap and trade and amnesty all moving through the federal pipeline, it’s is time for states to use this power afforded by the Constitution. If not, the federal government will continue to ignore this check on the balance of power and continue to push for the $1,000,000 suitcase.

Hopefully it doesn’t come down to the final two suitcase and Al ends up opening a suitcase that will either contain the $1 sign representing individual freedom or the $1,000,000 sign representing servitude to Washington D.C.

If it does come down to freedom or servitude, I’ll laugh at the arrogance of it all and say: “‘Hey Al, open up your little metal suitcase and let’s see what’s inside.”

  1. I don't see what this has to do with the 10th Amendment except make some 10thers look foolish and give the movement a bad name.

Argue if you want that climate change is a lie, fine (it's an ignorant argument, but everyone's entitled to their opinion and the 1st Amendment protects it).

But surely if there *is* a problem with CO2 and climate change it's one of the few completely interstate/international problems of the type that the federal government *does* have the constitutional power to regulate.

  2. Even *if* global warming is *proven* true, there are no enumerated powers giving authority at the federal level to mandate a solution. Given their original intent, interstate commerce or general welfare would not apply. So, if our country wants to enact cap and trade at the federal level then the proper course of action would be a Constitutional amendment. So, in effect, this is clearly a 10th amendment issue.

However, the current Climategate scandal has exposed prominent scientists in the UK and NZ modifying graphs to support global warming when the data collected supports the opposite. This data is the *heart* of the global warming argument and if the data is misrepresented, then the conclusions based on this data are in error too.

A bill such as cap and trade would cause undo hardships on every individual in this country and would unfairly redistribute money from some states in favor of others. With so many questions unanswered and recent evidence of corruption/bad data, how can anyone support the loss of economic and personal freedom that cap and trade would demand?

Unless we are 100% sure about global warming (and we are not), Texas should nullify cap and trade.
